Google removes dangerous apps which stole login details from Play Store – Check list here

Google recently removed as many as 150 apps from Play Store on grounds of privacy issue. One again, Google has now removed three more apps that have several million followers. The company had revealed that deleting these apps would benefit users. Let’s know about them.

The banned apps are ‘Magic Photo Lab – Photo Editor’, ‘Blender Photo Editor-Easy Photo Background Editor’ and ‘Pics Photo Motion Edit 2021’. These apps have been banned from the Play Store.

The three apps, which were banned from Google Play Store, were stealing users their personal information and money. Security firm Kaspersky has looked into this and said that Facebook logins are stealing users’ personal information and accessing bank accounts.

The ‘Login With Facebook’ button on many web services and apps is used to quickly authenticate users and allow them to use the service without creating another user name and password. According to the security firm, these apps were using sign-in data to steal login credentials and access users’ personal information.

How to protect yourself from these apps banned by Google?

Users who have downloaded these apps must manually delete them from their phone, and also change their Facebook login details.
